Tobagonians are being urged to play their part in developing the island.
At the National Union of General and Federated Workers (NUFGW) 11th annual awards and appreciation ceremony on Saturday (January 12) at Rovanels Resort, Crown Point, Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles said workers in Tobago have a key contribution to make.
“…As much as we have a lot to be thankful for, we need to rededicate and recommit ourselves to the development of this island, and by extension the nation of Trinidad and Tobago,” Charles said.
The Chief Secretary said the THA has taken a decision to maintain employment levels, even after three years of reduced budgetary allocations. He urged workers to help make the island more productive.
“Two hands have to clap. We are going to try our best at the level of government. All we ask is that you and your members reciprocate in the manner that is required so that together we can build this island.”
