Youth from north east Tobago will receive training to help them respond to emergency situations in a bid to improve the island’s disaster readiness.
The Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEAM) will facilitate a three-day Disaster Preparedness and Management Workshop at the Charlotteville Branch Library from May 7-9.
The event, which is being hosted by the District Servicing Unit of the Division of Sport and Youth Affairs, is specifically for residents ages 18-29. It’s meant to help them understand their roles in mitigating and taking control of emergency situations to improve the island’s ability to respond to a disaster.
The sessions will feature lectures and interactive presentations. They will cover topics like shelter management, chainsaw operation and radio operation.
