Pembroke’s Salaka Feast, hosted at the Pembroke Heritage Park on Monday, 22 July, 2019, began with an early morning ritual at 6:00 a.m. Roasted pork and dirt oven bread were among the delicacies served during the day. Later in the evening, a stage production was held to emphasize the concept of ‘one yard many nations’ as the ancestors revealed the long-ago truths that lead to the Salaka feast. The event is a staple on the Tobago Heritage Festival calendar.
