October 16th marks World Food Day! In celebration of this, the Division of Food Production, Forestry and Fisheries will host a series of events.
On October 8th, there will be an Open House at the Goldsborough Demonstration and Training Centre from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a Walk Against World Hunger will be held on October 9th. The event is open to 4H clubs, schools, Farmers’ Associations, youth organizations, and other interested persons. Participants are asked to assemble at Tambrin Square from 8:30 a.m.
There will also be a Grand Exhibition and Food Fair at the Parade Grounds, Bacolet on October 16th and 17th from 9 a.m. In addition, the Division will host a seminar on ‘Establishing Exotic Fruit Trees’ at the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment conference room on October 23rd at 4:30 p.m.
The theme for World Food Day 2019 is “Our Actions are our Future. Healthy Diets for a #ZeroHunger World.” Persons can pre-register for the walk and seminar by calling 639-9515.
