The Division of Food Production, Forestry and Fisheries is advising members of the public that the Fire Season, which began on December 1, 2019, continues through June 30, 2020. This, according to the Agricultural Fires Act of Trinidad and Tobago (1980), Chapter 63:02.
The Division is also reminding the public that a Fire Permit is required to light outdoor fires.
The permit, which can be obtained at the Fire Stations in Scarborough and Roxborough, costs only ten dollars while the penalty for contravening the Act is a fine of $20,000.
