Update On COVID-19

THA Chief Secretary Hon. Kelvin Charles spoke about Tobago’s preparedness for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) at a media briefing on March 6th at the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development.

Charles updated members of the media about the THA’s readiness to ensure Tobago’s residents stay safe.

“The situation in Trinidad and Tobago is that there are no confirmed cases, and I want to thank all the medical personnel and other stakeholders for the sterling contribution they’ve made over the last couple of weeks to ensure that Tobago is well-positioned to treat with any situation involving COVID-19,” Charles said.

He emphasized the fact that the island’s health stakeholders are remaining proactive.

Neighbouring Grenada also ramped up its efforts from today, refusing nationals from Italy, Iran, Sourth Korea and Germany. This move comes after the Caribbean island imposed restrictions on travelers from China on February 2nd.
