UNICEF Representative for the Caribbean Area Khin-Sandi Lwin paid a courtesy call on THA Chief Secretary Orville London last week Thursday. (26th January 2012)

She said it was her first round of visits to the 12 countries that the UNICEF covered out of its office in Barbados to look at the programmes it was supporting in Trinidad and Tobago, in particular in Tobago. She said UNICEF was supporting youth and sport development activity, HIV/Aids and life skills in selected communities in T&T.

“UNICEF is a UN Children’s Fund, we are focussing more particular on children who are most vulnerable to abuse, neglect, protection as well as health education, all aspects of child development,” Lwin said.
