The Scarborough Library Facility hosted a World Book Day lecture on Thursday (April 20) evening. The feature speaker was author, musician and storyteller, Dr. Danielle Brown from Brooklyn, New York. Brown also launched her own publication “East Of Flatbush, North Of Love: An Ethnography of Home” during the event, which tells her story of growing up in a West Indian immigrant community to Trinidadian parents. Brown, a former lecturer at Syracuse University, holds a doctorate in music, and is also an active vocalist and cuatro player.
