St Patrick’s Anglican’s 17th annual ancestral walk

St. Patrick’s Anglican Church members walk from Mt. Irvine Beach to in Mt. Pleasant with bricks in hand, in the company of many other Tobagonians as they re-enact the trek taken by former slaves, who carried fire bricks from the ships to construct the church in the 1840s.

The property was declared a historical site by the Tobago House of Assembly. The walk is aimed at ensuring members of the parish, and Tobagonians overall, appreciate the importance of the island’s culture.
