Signing of Japenese grant for TEMA

Speyside’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Centre will be renovated after Tobago received financial support from the Japanese Government.

The funds are part of the Japanese Embassy’s Grassroots and Human Security (GCP) Project Grant. The official signing over ceremony took place (March 8) at the Victor E. Bruce Financial Complex in Scarborough. The grant is in the sum of US $210,205.00. The Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) was one of the organisations invited by the Government of Japan to apply for the grant last year. The grant project is a flexible funding scheme that supports community level socio-economic development projects. The selected projects must be run by civil society organisations and address a basic human need.
