World of Work Interns Graduate

More than 100 Tobago youth are now equipped with tools to help them in the job market.

They completed internships through the annual World of Work programme, hosted by the Department of Youth. The programme is designed to bridge the skills gap between current employment opportunities and young job seekers.

The programme included four days of training, one day of interviews and 15 days of practical work experience for participants ages 16 to 18. It started on July 23, and ended with a graduation ceremony hosted by the Division of Sport and Youth Affairs on August 30 at the Scarborough Library Facility.

Secretary of Sport and Youth Affairs Jomo Pitt told the young interns that the biggest test of their character will come when they are faced with adversity.
