Tobago’s youth continue to earn recognition for their contributions to national development in various fields. This time, nine Tobagonians were winners at the 2018 National Youth Awards on September 8 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Trinidad.

They included Gerard Balfour (Arts and Culture), Jevaughn Arnold (Agriculture), Iraq Thomas (Sports), Rheanne Moore (Leadership and Advocacy), Ronique Thomas (Health and Wellness), Jhoel Skeete (Entrepreneurship), Charlene Samaroo (Youth Mentor), Zalisia Guy (Personal Triumph) and Safiya James (Education).

Director of Youth Development Praveen Bheem congratulated the awardees on behalf of the Division of Sport and Youth Affairs.

“[The Division] would like to extend congratulations to all and encourage other young persons to follow the example set by these achievers. Be committed in your chosen area and make a positive impact on others,” she said.
