Children’s Day 2018

Persons are invited to celebrate Universal Children’s Day at a pop-up festival hosted at the Scarborough Library Facility. The occasion raises awareness on the emotions, well-being, and rights of children.

Themed ‘Children are taking over and turning the world blue,’ Universal Children’s Day is celebrated annually on November 20th. The goals of the observance are: to improve child welfare worldwide, promote and celebrate children’s rights and promote togetherness and awareness among children.

It was established in 1954 by the United Nations. Worldwide, schools and other educational institutions inform children of their rights. The festival takes place at the Eastlyn McKenzie Children’s Library today (November 19th, 2018) and Tuesday (November 20, 2018) from 3:30 p.m.
