A team from the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) led by Chief Secretary Orville London will meet Finance Minister Larry Howai on Wednesday (28th August 2013) at the Eric Williams Financial Complex, Port of Spain to discuss Tobago’s allocation in the 2013/2014 national budget.
Howai met the THA representatives on August 5 to discuss the Assembly’s $4.95 billion request and promised to meet them again before he presents the budget on Monday.
London who will be accompanied by Finance and Enterprise Development Secretary Joel Jack among others said the Assembly was hoping to receive its fair share of the national budget and well above the 4.03 per cent which is the minimum percentage prescribed by the Dispute Resolution Commission (DRC).
He said he expects the Minister would agree to facilitate the Assembly’s efforts to source funding outside of the budgetary allocation for its housing development programme and other major projects.
