Road Market Success

The four Road Market Experience events held in Tobago for 2018 are being regarded successful.

And there’s more to come in 2019, according to Secretary of Community Development, Enterprise Development and Labour Marlsyn Melville-Jack. The Secretary said the Division aims to host at least two road markets per quarter next year as the series is helping to boost entrepreneurship in Tobago.

Melville-Jack also encouraged business owners to work together for the good of the sector.

“We want to create awareness of locally manufactured and inspired products and services, which will help to boost the local tourism industry.”

Melville-Jack said the Division is seeking to create links between businesses, and to connect businesses and consumers.

“We also propose to raise the standards and the quality of products and services being currently offered, through effective marketing and promotion, which would encourage local vendors to start thinking globally,” she added.

The Community Development Secretary said entrepreneurs should start by expanding into the Trinidad market, and from there enter into the regional and international markets.
