Tobago Attends Labour Conference

Secretary of Community Development, Enterprise Development and Labour Marslyn Melville-Jack recently attended the 108th International Labour Organization Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Labour Secretary attended the event along with Minister of Labour and Small Enterprise Development, Jennifer Baptiste Primus, and other members of a Trinidad and Tobago delegation.

The conference brought together tripartite delegations from the Organization’s member states who were presented with a report of the Global Commission on the Future of Work entitled ‘Work for a brighter future.’ In addition, there were various information sessions including a discussion on ‘Violence and harassment in the world of work.’

The Conference also establishes and adopts international labour standards and is a forum for discussion of key social and labour questions.
