Tobago will discuss employment issues and standards at a special session tomorrow (September 21) at the Division of Community Development, Enterprise Development, and Labour, Glen Road.
The session, entitled “National Stakeholder Consultation on Employment Standards in Trinidad and Tobago”, begins at 9 a.m. It is being hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development in collaboration with the Division.
The consultation will focus on principles, policies and issues to be considered in the proposed policy framework for establishing and implementing national employment standards.
This follows a consultation on the Basic Terms and Conditions of Work in June 2016, which was hosted by the Labour Ministry.
Stakeholder contributions from that initiative were compiled by the Ministry and forwarded to the Industrial Relations Advisory Committee for the review, consideration and development of a policy on national employment standards.
