Four Tobago entrepreneurs were among 23 businesses representing the country at the 16th ExpoCaribe International Trade Fair.
The delegation, which was led by Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry, included Assistant Secretary of Community Development, Enterprise Development and Labour, Shomari Hector.
“I am happy to report that those four entrepreneurs and their goods and services represent Roson’s Soft Furnishings (Sonia Charles-Sampson), TeaBago Teas (Biana Edwards), the Support line of products (Edwards Jones), and B’s Naturals (MijanoCharles),” stated Mr. Hector.
He added that attending the Fair gave the local entrepreneurs an opportunity to not only market their own products, but market destination Tobago.
The Assistant Secretary said one result from attending the Fair is that TeaBago Teas was invited to attend the LAC Flavors Convention in Columbia in September.
“LAC Flavors is one of the key food and beverages forums in the region, connecting hundreds of Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) markets and market shareholders,” Hector said.
The Assistant Secretary indicated that opportunities for warehousing facilities will soon be available to local entrepreneurs, which will allow for simpler exporting to regional markets. ExpoCaribe took place in Santiago de Cuba City from June 19th to 22nd, 2019.
