Fifty Tobagonian Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service recruits are now in training on the island.

This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last Tuesday (September 25) among the Fire Service, the Division of Community Development, Enterprise Development and Labour, and the Argyle Village Council at the Division’s conference room.

The signing means the Fire Service now has a Tobago location for training at the Argyle Community Centre, the Centre’s car park and the adjoining football field.

It will also allow more Tobago residents to participate in training, and in more familiar surroundings.

At the MOU signing, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Andy Hutchinson thanked the Argyle Village Council and the community for facilitating them and helping the Tobago Division of the Fire Service to raise its standard.

“It is imperative to know that we in Tobago have the capacity to do this training as we have done before,” Hutchinson said. “Thank you for entertaining us and giving us the opportunity to pursue the training for the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, and we will ensure that we will not disappoint.”
