Youth ‘Talk Back’

“Let Your Voices Be Heard”.

That’s the theme of the Youth Talk Back series to be held in Tobago over the next two months. The series starts on Monday (February 4) and runs until April 4 at both indoor and outdoor venues.

The Division of Community Development, Enterprise Development and Labour will visit communities across the island to get the views of young residents on issues affecting them, Community Development Secretary Marslyn Melville-Jack announced at Wednesday’s (January 23) post Executive Council media briefing.

The series will be spearheaded by Assistant Secretary Shomari Hector, with support from a team of young people “within the Division and the community at large”, Melville-Jack said.

The Secretary added that the Division is seeking to craft programmes tailored to youth interest, and to “encourage intellectual and cultural paradigm shifts among the youth, and raise the level of awareness among young people about the myriad of opportunities that are offered by the THA and some private organisations”.
