The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is set to negotiate loans for the building of five Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Centres.
“Cabinet has approved the establishment of a committee to be chaired by the Tobago House of Assembly to negotiate critical elements of a loan for the construction of five ECCE centres. This is a matter that has been ongoing for quite some time, but we have crossed a major hurdle at this point in respect of Cabinet’s approval,” Chief Secretary and Secretary of Education, Innovation and Energy Hon. Kelvin Charles said.
“Personnel from the respective bank are expected to visit Tobago around the middle of next month and, subsequent to their visit, the intention is to turn the sod to begin construction of these centres,” Charles added.
The Division of Education has consistently focused on developing the island’s schools and the building of centres to educate Tobago’s youngest.
