20 Entrepreneurs Get BDU Grants

Twenty Tobago entrepreneurs received Business Development Unit (BDU) grants to fund businesses inclusive of farming, food and beverage, and agro-processing on Friday (July 26, 2019).

The BDU supports the growth and development of start-ups and existing businesses in Tobago. The unit is part of the Division of Community Development, Enterprise Development, and Labour. During the cheque distribution ceremony in the Division’s conference hall, BDU Manager Shelly-Ann Baptiste, stated that there were many opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop themselves.

Secretary of the Division of Community Development, Enterprise Development, and Labour Marslyn Melville-Jack told the recipients to make the right choices in their business.

She encouraged them to “be authentic and genuine in what they set out to do, have humility when doing it and refrain from unscrupulous behavior as they venture into their new businesses,” a media release from the Division stated. Persons interested in a BDU grant can contact the Division at 639-4818.
