The Division of Food Production, Forestry and Fisheries will launch its Eat Local Campaign 2019 next Tuesday (April 2, 2019).

The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Celebrate Our Local Foods: Produce, Process, Promote’.

The objectives of Eat Local Campaign include to promote and sensitize the public to the nutritional and health benefits of local produce, increase consumption of local produce including root crops and traditional fruits, and to promote innovation in preparing local produce to increase consumption.

The month of May has been designated ‘Eat Local Month’ on the island. To celebrate, there will be a Eat Local Exhibition and Food Fair to conclude this initiative on May 29th at the Gardenside Carpark, Scarborough.
