At-Risk Children In Tobago Have A Place Of Their Own

A community residence has been established for children.

The residence will have “oversight and monitoring by the Facilities Review Committee for Children, as well as the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago”, Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development Dr. Agatha Carrington said.

The Carnbee facility was formally commissioned this morning and is opened to children under the age of 18.

“This underscores our commitment to provide support to our at-risk children,” she said.

“There are guidelines to be followed as far what persons will be placed [at the facility],” she said, adding that the facility functions as a “community residence…and a support centre for children”.

She indicated that there will be another support centre for the Children’s Authority.
