Construction is expected to begin on the Moriah Health Centre by the end of this month.
The sod was turned in August to pave the way for construction of the facility. And on Wednesday (February 13), Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Family Development Dr. Agatha Carrington gave an update on the project at the weekly post Executive Council media briefing.
“The facility will cost us $28 million, to be delivered in 18 months,” the Health Secretary said.
She also said a new hospital will be built in Roxborough.
“Just a few days ago, the team from UDeCOTT visited, on the leadership of the Honourable Prime Minister [Dr. Keith Rowley], and we visited the site for the new Roxborough Hospital,” Dr. Carrington stated.
She said a request for proposal (RFP) is now out for the design-build-equip model, which will be used for the hospital. The project is expected to begin by June 1.
