Get vaccinated from the flu.
That’s what the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development is advising all Tobago residents to do to protect themselves and their loved ones, especially with a number of H1N1 flu virus, or swine flu cases, being experienced in Trinidad.
During the Carnival season, flu transmission can occur more rapidly.
The flu vaccine is available at health centres across Tobago. And the public is being advised to contact the closest health centre to find out when they can get their flu shot.
The Division has also been conducting special outreach to those who are more vulnerable to the disease.
According to the Health Division, the vaccine used for the current flu season complies with World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations for the region.
