With more than 118,326 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 4,292 deaths, in 114 countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
In light of this, the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development continues to inform the public on preventative measures and urge healthcare workers to protect themselves when dealing with patients, as they are the first line of defence against the spreading of diseases.
Workers are advised to take precautions to minimize chances of exposure. This includes performing proper hand hygiene such as washing hands with soap and water for at least 40-60 seconds and using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after each patient contact. In addition, surfaces and objects should be wiped regularly with disinfectant.
