Two boys were born at the Scarborough General Hospital on the New Year (January 1, 2019).

The first baby was born to Juanita Gumbs and Dwayne Nicholls of Milford Road, Bon Accord at approximately 1:41 a.m., weighing 7.35 pounds.

Excited at the birth of her third boy, Gumbs said: “My doctors were excellent. All the midwives on shift; they were very, very supportive.”

The second baby weighed 6.07 lbs and was born at 7:23 a.m. to Stacey and Neil McLetchie of Buccoo New Road, Buccoo. It was their fourth boy.

TRHA officials made a presentation to the new parents to mark the occasion. They included Chairman Ingrid Melville, Acting CEO Michelle Edwards-Benjamin, Acting Medical Chief of Staff Dr. Victor Wheeler, Acting Secondary Care Nurse Manager Sarah Celestine-Balfour and Midwife Beverly A. Baptiste.
