The Elizabeth Quamina Cancer Registry will provide training for data collectors and research officers in Tobago.
This was among the decisions agreed to when Registrar at the Dr. Elizabeth Quamina Cancer Registry, Marjorie Lamont-Greene paid a courtesy visit to Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development Dr. Agatha Carrington yesterday (September 27) at the Division’s office on Wilson Road, Scarborough.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the continuation of data collection at the Oncology Unit of the Scarborough General Hospital, which has not been collected for the past three years.
The Registry also agreed to quarterly visits to monitor data collection in Tobago.
The Elizabeth Quamina Cancer Registry serves as the National Cancer Registry of Trinidad and Tobago and is located at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt. Hope, Trinidad.
The Registry collects and publishes data on cancer within Trinidad and Tobago, which provides healthcare professionals with evidenced-based information to understand and address cancer more effectively.
