TADCO on the World Stage

A delegation from the Tobago Agribusiness Development Company (TADCO), led by Secretary of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development Assemblyman Nathisha Charles-Pantin recently attended the Food and Drink Expo 2022 in Birmingham, England, where locally–made products were on the world stage.

The three-day event, which began on April 25th and was held at the National Exhibition Centre attracts buyers and wholesalers from the whole food market inclusive of retailers. The Expo provides a route to the UK food and drink market, enabling hundreds of companies to showcase their products. Buyers across the industry, from grocery to foodservice and manufacturing attend the event to witness new product launches.

“TADCO is representing both islands, Trinidad and Tobago. This is a milestone achievement for Tobago, just being able to be featured in the UK’s Food and Drink Expo. We want to thank the International Trade Centre for inviting us here and allowing us to form partnerships so that we can enter into the international market,”Charles-Pantin said.

During the Expo, TADCO presented several products, from Tobago’s cassava farine and cassava waffle mix to plantain pancake mix and dasheen cereal.

Earlier last month, the company hosted its first Product Launch and Exhibition at the Gardenside Carpark in Scarborough where it showcased the new products, while Tobago-based agro-processors were given the opportunity to exhibit their offerings.
