Transforming Tobago through digital technology.

That’s the mandate the board of directors of the Tobago Information Technology Limited (TITL) has received alongside their instruments of appointment. The board will spearhead the implementation of the THA’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) agenda, and push forward Tobago’s development and usage of relevant technologies.

The board will be led by chairman Otis Noel and feature Hewlett Waldron (vice chairman), Sherra Carrington-James, Kerlan London, Daniel Lyons, Tynielle Jack, Marcus Woods and Mentor Baptiste. Aleah Holder is secretary of the board. The appointment ceremony took place on May 23rd at the TITL’s head office in Signal Hill.

The development of the island’s ICT-related technologies is expected to also advance socio-economic development in Tobago.

“The importance of ICT was highlighted by the pandemic, which have forced us to accelerate digital transformation in state and local Government. As such, organisations must quickly pivot away from paper-based services in order to effectively and efficiently deliver goods and services,” TITL Chairman Otis Noel said.

“It is important that the island embraces ICT as it permeates all aspects of life, providing new and better ways for individuals to interact, learn and work.

TITL is a special purpose company of the THA. It specialises in providing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services to clients, as well as ICT training and certification.

Recently, TITL partnered with the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and Urban Development to develop the mobile application ‘SMART – Show Me A Road Tobago.’
