The launch of Tobago Carnival 2023 kicked off on Tuesday (January 17th) in Scarborough.

Carnival is the greatest show on earth. It reflects our history, resilience, and creativity. It is a product of ourselves [and] our identity, that we offer to the world,”  Assistant Secretary of the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation Megan Morrison said.

Morrison encouraged Carnival stakeholders to put their best foot forward in representing themselves and Tobago during the season.

During the event, Tobago Festivals Commission (TFC) CEO John Arnold said the TFC website has launched.

This is going to be the hub of everything that’s festival-[related]. Anything you want to know about [Tobago’s] festivals, this is where you can go. You can see past events, interviews, updates on activities to come. Here is where you can get information about Jazz and any new festival,” Arnold said.

The event was attended by Secretary of the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation Tashia Burris and Executive Chairman at the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) Alicia Edwards.

The first official event for Tobago Carnival 2023 is the Children’s All Inclusive on February 11, 2023 at a venue to be determined. The National Medium Band Panorama Finals takes play the next day (February 12th) at the parade grounds, Dwight Yorke Stadium, followed by the Kaiso Extravaganza (February 13th) at the same location.
