‘World Of Work’ 2022 is Here!

What is the best way to find a job? For the teenager, navigating the employment workspace can be challenging.

This is why the Division of Community Development, Youth Development and Sport will soon host its 2022 edition of the World of Work (WOW) programme, as grasping new employment opportunities is much easier for the person who is prepared.

If you are between the ages of 16-18 years old, you may be eligible to participate in WOW. The programme, which began in 2009, teaches young residents interested in finding a job, the relevant skills that will enhance their ability to pursue and obtain employment.

In 2021, the programme’s format was modified due to the pandemic and was conducted through virtual training sessions

This year will see the return of all aspects of the annual WOW programme, including internship and job placements in the public and private sectors. This internship will take place following training and interview sessions, as participants embrace this interactive learning opportunity,” Youth Programme Coordinator Julien Skeete said.

The sessions will take place in the Division’s Conference Hall and will cover topics such as public speaking and communication, resume writing, and dress code, before the internship component begins.

We place them at various organisations, from the financial to the health sector,” he said.

WOW continues to be a great opportunity for participants to prepare well for the workplace. Registration for this programme closes on Tuesday (July 12th). Persons who are interested can sign up at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/48mstufu or through the Division’s Facebook page.
