General Earth Movers was awarded the contract for construction following a tendering process facilitated by project manager National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO). Trintoplan Consultants Limited, designer of the bridges will supervise works.

The project is expected to take 14 months.

The continuance of the bridges project is a signal of the Assembly’s commitment to deliver upgrades that can improve the quality of life and provide safer pedestrian spaces that were not had before with the older bridges,” Infrastructure Secretary Kwesi Des Vignes said.

The estimated cost of the bridge is approximately $24.6 million.

It will be built according to structural and hydraulic standards in keeping with American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials standards.

“We have ensured that the structure, like the one at Lambeau River will be resilient and can withstand natural disasters for times to come,” Des Vignes said.
