Four engineers from the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment will participate in an internship programme with the China Railway Construction (Caribbean) Co. Ltd.

This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Tobago House of Assembly and the Chinese company yesterday (September 5).

The MOU formalises the agreement between the two institutions for knowledge transfer to local professionals, especially Assembly engineers, and for institutional assistance in the engineering industry.

This follows Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles’ visit to China for the China-Latin America and the Caribbean (CLAC) International Exposition last November.

Ritchie Toppin, Administrator in the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment, signed the MOU on behalf of the Assembly while Yan Meng, Managing Director, signed on behalf of the China Railway Construction.
