Tobago’s Road Resurfacing Programme for 2019 has been making progress in several parts of the island.
Secretary of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment Kwesi Des Vignes, recently confirmed that upgrades on the Glamorgan-Belle Garden stretch have been completed.
“We are currently working at Argyle, then moving to the King’s Bay area along the Windward Road, so again we are really looking at getting a lot of work done on the Windward Road,” Des Vignes said.
The Infrastructure Secretary said repairs have also been completed at Cart Road in Mt. St George at an estimated cost of $3 million.
“We’ve also done some works in Sou Sou Lands, so all of this is planned work, part of our Road Resurfacing Programme, and I want persons to take note that this is not election paving.”
Des Vignes said works will ensure Tobago has better roads for motorists and residents, who have in the past encountered issues such flooding on the roads.
