Construction of the new Scarborough RC Primary School is scheduled to start in October.
Chief Secretary Orville London made the announcement yesterday at the post Executive Council media briefing at the Administrative Complex, Calder Hall.
London said the sod-turning ceremony for the project will be held on Monday (August 25, 2016).
“Parents, students, the board, the priests will breathe a sigh of relief when they finally do the sod-turning ceremony,” THA Chief Secretary Orville London said.
London indicated that a contract has been awarded for the project, which is estimated to cost close to $60 million. The new school will accommodate about 750 students and will include modern amenities.
The Chief Secretary stated construction should be completed in 18 months.
