A Cool Connections Programme was launched on January 21 to encourage the island’s young people to make good life choices.
Started by the Youth Department of the Division of Sport and Youth Affairs, the mentorship project will train young people to positively influence others to make the most appropriate lifestyle choices.
“These ambassadors, in turn, will connect with their peers helping them to learn easy, simple steps to make decisions and to think critically before they make some of the choices that they make. We are giving them the skills to analyse the facts and then finally to make the good choices,” Youth Development Director Ann-Marie DeGazon said.
The Youth Department partnered with the Moriah Police Youth Club in the planning and execution of the launch. The club’s members will be among others who will enjoy the benefits of the training, which will be rolled out into communities from March 9th.
