A segment of the Market Square car park has been reserved to facilitate construction at the old Scarborough Market.
Renovations have begun at the facility, and project manager Eco-Industrial Company of Tobago (E-IDCOT) has advised that one-third of the car park has been reserved as staging area to ensure public safety during construction. It is currently being fenced off.
The segment starts at the South-Western end of Victor E. Bruce Financial Complex and runs along the perimeter up to the entrance of the market. Both car park exits remain accessible to vehicular traffic.
Contractor Alpha Engineering and Construction began work on the project on August 6. The project should take an estimated 12 months.
