The Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony was held in Scarborough this past weekend (November 9, 2014) honouring Trinidad and Tobago’s veterans who have served in the line of duty since the end of World War I. Remembrance Day is observed on November 11.
The poppy flower is used as a symbol in remembrance of those soldiers who died during wartime. THA Chief Secretary Orville London greeted veteran Comrade Michael A Hector during the Remembrance Day Parade. Hector is the last known surviving Tobago World War II Veteran. He was attached to the Third Battalion B Company in Trinidad. Hector, 93, attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony at St James Park, which was hosted by the Office of the Chief Secretary,Tobago House of Assembly.
