Repair works at the Dwight Yorke Stadium resume this week.
Secretary of Sport and Youth Affairs Jomo Pitt said he’d received an update on the repairs recently from project manager the Urban Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT).
“Electrical works will begin and should be a duration of eight weeks,” Pitt said during Wednesday’s (July 11) post Executive Council media briefing. “Included in that first package would be the roofing. As many would have noticed the sheets of the stadium roof has been removed, we now intend to have that replaced, and that should start at the beginning of August,” Pitt said.
He said the second phase of work will begin immediately after the first phase was completed.
“[The second phase includes] the plumbing, the waste water treatment, the lighting of the car parks and all extra electrical works which will include the field lights, that funding has been approved.”
