Twenty-two (22) primary schools and eight (8) secondary schools are being upgraded and repaired, and all works will be completed before the opening of the school term beginning September 6 2010, said Secretary Groome-Duke.
The repairs and upgrades cost five million one hundred and forty-seven thousand six hundred and eighty-seven dollars and eighty-eight cents ($5,147,687.88). The scope of works include: electrical, plumbing, guttering, floor, roof, toilet facility and kitchen upgrades; painting; minor repairs; servicing of high voltage transporters; and construction of retaining walls, agricultural room for farm attendants, and rails.
