The Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) was presented with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UVA), drone, costing approximately TT$500,000, and supporting computer hardware and software, this morning (Friday May 13th, 2022). The handover was done thanks to efforts of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The drone will allow TEMA to quickly access the damage and the type of emergency assistance needed in the event of a disaster. It will also support more effective data analytics, mapping and forecast modeling by TEMA’s Planning Unit.
