The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) has indicated its intentions to purchase the 148-acre Culloden Estate in northwest Tobago for $19 million.
This was disclosed by Chief Secretary Orville London in an interview on Monday. (2nd May 2011)
First Citizens had foreclosed on the property resulting in the Assembly making a successful bid for it. Finance and Enterprise Development Secretary Dr Anslem London has since indicated the Assembly’s desire to complete the transaction with a ten percent deposit.
Chief Secretary London said the property will be used for village expansion, agriculture, resort development, environmental preservation, as well as recreational and leisure activities.
