UK Agents Get Tobago Experience

The Tobago Tourism Agency (TTAL) recently hosted ten travel agents and tour operators from the United Kingdom to Tobago from November 11-18 for a familiarisation tour.

The Agency partnered with Thomas Cook Airlines for the trip, as the British airline resumed a direct flight from Manchester, England to Tobago on November 11.

This initiative offered agents and operators the opportunity to see firsthand what Tobago has to offer, so they can better market the island to their clients in the UK.

TTAL CEO Louis Lewis said the project provided an ideal opportunity to make agents aware of the main features of the destination as they market the island in “our biggest source market”.

Lewis added: “It is important that we expose the unique authentic nature of Tobago to as many front-line travel staff as possible, to ensure that they experience our core [attractions], which they in turn, can relate to their clients,” he said.

The contingent enjoyed birdwatching and hiking in the Main Ridge Forest, as well as a visit to Argyle Waterfall, and a bio-luminescence kayak tour.
