The unification of youth-based groups to further the development of this demographic on the island was the focus of a recent meeting.

The Department of Youth Affairs, within the Division of Sport and Youth Affairs (DSYA), instituted a Director’s Round Table Meeting to facilitate cooperation and coordination of youth work on the island. The event was held at the Scarborough Library Facility on March 10th and took the form of presentations on 2020 initiatives of DSYA and related agencies.

“This was an opportunity tosee where there might be any overlap in regards to youth development. It’s great that the Department of Youth Affairs is leading, and convened this effort towards harmonizing the youth agenda on the island.” said Latoya Roberts, President of the Tobago Youth Council (TYC).

Youth groups and organisations are being asked to register with the Department to receive access to resources, networking and technical support.
