Recreational opportunities are being explored for urban renewal in Tobago. This was one of the topics raised during a public consultation on September 30th at the Scarborough Esplanade.
Environmental Engineer Dr. George Sammy said this is a key area.
“We are looking at passive recreation, a place where somebody could come out and take a nice walk on evenings for their health, sit down in groups, chat,” Sammy said.
He indicated that landscaping at the Esplanade needed improvement and traffic congestion in that area will be reviewed. A roundabout is also being proposed for the western end of Scarborough.
The consultation was hosted by the Division of Settlements, Urban Renewal and Public Utilities.
