Ms. TT UK to Youth: Know Your Value

Ms. Trinidad and Tobago-United Kingdom, Lee-Ann Goddard, is urging young Tobagonians to be aware of their value.

She made the statement during a courtesy visit with Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Transportation Nadine Stewart-Phillips on May 21 at the Tourism Division at Sangster’s Hill, Scarborough.

During the meeting, Goddard, who champions youth empowerment, said the Ms. TT UK platform has given her the chance to motivate and inspire young people from “all walks of life”.

“This is very important because young people should be aware of their identity and how valuable they are, especially in the age of social media with so many competing influences,” Goddard said.

Stewart Phillips said the competition was more than just a pageant.

“I’m glad that this competition takes on a holistic approach, allowing for young and mature females to be trained, not just as beauty queens but as ambassadors for their island, nation and the world, which extends beyond the yearly reign,” Stewart-Phillips said.
