“One Sea, One Voice, One Caribbean” is the theme for this year’s Tourism Week celebrations, which run from November 22-29 in Tobago.
The annual event will include a stakeholders meeting, training sessions with service providers, and educational sessions with primary and secondary school students.
Tourism and Transportation Secretary Tracy Davidson-Celestine believes tourism is big business, and is encouraging Tobagonians to play their parts to help boost the sector.
Tourism Week was designed “to raise awareness among the people of Tobago, and by extension Trinidad and Tobago, about the benefits of tourism on the island,” Davidson-Celestine said.
She told the media the Division wants people to reflect on the value of tourism and its impact on the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of Tobagonians.
Tourism is important to Tobago’s economy Davidson-Celestine pointed out, adding that she wants community involvement, “so that they can feel and derive the benefits of tourism.”
